I think like an architect. Premise is the foundation. Character forms the load-bearing structure and drives the story. Theme provides texture, like the choice of materials in a house: subliminally felt throughout. My stories explore identity, perception, desire, and the choices people make under pressure.

My scripts move across psychological thrillers, neo-noir, dark comedies, romantic dramas, magical realism, and supernatural horror, but the conflict is always personal. A gay man assumes his dead female best friend’s identity. Three women conceal a body. Estranged lovers wake up in each other’s bodies. Two former lovers, each believing the other dead, unknowingly live across the same garden. A guilt-ridden teenager follows the ghost of his dead twin underground.

Place is integral to my work. San Miguel de Allende, Mexico City, Scotland, London, and Buenos Aires are not backdrops, but environments that shape character, morality, and consequence.
